With such good feedback from this post last time and the school year upon us for many parents, I thought it worthwhile to repost this:
Parents, tired of having to pry the phone, tablet or iPod from your little ones hands? Do you find yourself arguing with kids about the amount of time or content on their device? The reality is that many of us parents see this technology as a tool to help our children learn and grow, but can quickly become the enemy and accomplish just the opposite. I’m happy to report that after only a couple of weeks, my 4 children all adapted to the preset schedules we setup for access to apps, internet, etc. on their devices and the battle of taking the devices away before bed was a distant memory.
Not only does the app allow my wife and I to set a routine for the kids and monitor the amount of time they spend on their devices, we have strict policies about accessible content that even some of the higher-end MDMs were not flexible enough to handle. This app has been a real blessing in our home and helps to create the balance of fun and learning without any downside. Out of site, out of mind. When the apps disappear or wifi is no longer accessible at 7:45, the 3 younger kids simply plug their iPods in at the “charging station” we set up and that’s it!
As a parent and a self-proclaimed tech junky, I strongly urge any parent to take a look at this app to see how it can help you and your children. Almost forgot to mention it, the app is TOTALLY FREE! I’d love to hear what some of you think after using it for a while and what your kids think of it too.
You can get the app here.
All the best,
